audio problem!!!plss help?
ok heres the deal my PSU malfunctnd and so i bought a new 1 and attached it myself.
problem is that now on my 5.1 speakers only the left 1 is working.i attachd othr speakers 2 conclude tat sound crd is at fault.i chckd in diffrnt OS too so no driver problem.
my pc is p4 relatively old so d new psu was a little different.so heres the differences:-
in my old psu,apart from d sata/pata cables, there is a long power socket for d motherboard and another 4pin socket.
in my new psu,the 4pin socket is present,but the power socket was longer wid 4more pins which cud b detached.so i detached them to put on my mobo.now the difference here is that in this long power socket 1 slot is missing but still it fits and my pc works.I approched my vendor abt this and he sed that new psu these days hav that slot vacant.
so heres my questn,is tat missing slot causing the audio problem or is it just physical damage brought abt by physical damage or electrical problem by d old psu malfunctn??
99% Chances your PSU going out fried your sound card, I have experienced blowing out network cards even video card ports on motherboards when Power supply goes dead. Sorry buddy but the good news you can check online somewhere like http://www.newegg.com or http://www.amazon.com and you may be able to find a sound card fairly cheap
