Does mars candy inc. test candy on animals?
They do not test their regular candies (3 Musketeers, Snickers, Starburst, Skittles, etc.) on animals.
Mars, however, did give some money to fund a medical study on the effects of chocolate and components of chocolate on rats. (They were testing to see if chocolate is actually beneficial to the circulatory system and what sort of amount is needed for positive effects.)
PETA put out a press release and some information about this issue, as Mars also makes pet foods and has up until that point stated publicly that they don’t support animal testing.
So the short answer is no, Mars doesn’t test their candy on animals.
The long answer is that they’ve supported medical testing using some chocolate compounds on rats.
